was born in the Bronx and now lives in Copake, N.Y., near the South Taconic Mountains. Before his graduation from Bard College, where he studied English and creative writing, Dan spent a year hiking and hitchhiking across the country. Following graduation, Haas worked in various positions before finding his calling as a special education teacher. Dan has been writing novels and short stories since his undergraduate years. YOU CAN CALL ME WORM, his first young reader’s novel to be published, was inspired by Dan’s love of the wilderness and is a great example of his fresh and entertaining style.
