is the author and/or illustrator of over 30 books for children, and is best known as the illustrator of the popular HENRY AND MUDGE books, written by Cynthia Rylant. She is also the illustrator of the upcoming ANNIE’S STORIES series, also by Cynthia Rylant. Born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and raised in Miantic, Connecticut, Stevenson attended Bennington College and Appalachian State University. Before her decision to dedicate her time to children’s books, Suçie worked as a mason, a house painter, and a shell fisherman among other jobs. She has both written and illustrated several books—including the retelling of fairy tales such as THE TWELVE DANCING PRINCESSES and THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES. Suçie currently lives in Cape Cod, Massachusetts with her little cocker spaniel, Gracie.
