Clare di Liscia Baird grew up in Southern California. Traveling extensively throughout South America and the Caribbean, Clare started creating stories to fill her imagination, and could often be found with her nose in a book. Clare attended University at KU Leuven in Belgium, where she studied Dutch and French. Clare won an first-place honorable mention in the Sue Alexander SCBWI prize for her YA novel OUTCAST.
