Children’s author Kim Siegelson began
writing after taking a course on writing fiction for
children during her graduate studies at Georgia State
University. Her lyrical tales are drawn from childhood
memories and her love of Georgia's Sea Islands. Siegelson
has received a number of honors and awards, including
the Coretta Scott King Award ( 2000) and the Storytelling
World Award for “Tellable” stories for Ages
8-12. Kim currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with
